A Word from our Founder:
Hello, to all seekers of knowledge, I'm delighted to speak to you through this beautiful website and the energy of the L.O.V.E. Center. This Center, although you may not be aware, has been serving the community for about 20 years. Many, many people have walked through these open friendly doors and although many have persued specific areas or moved to other states, they all have remained loyal to the Center and have continued to spread the love, fellowship and knowledge learned there. Those were very special times. Since I was the founder and president of the Center I felt that sharing its background story might provide some interest. One question I am always asked, whether relating to the Center, my teaching or mediumship is; "How did you get started?" I must admit, I don't believe it began at birth, in fact it wasn't until much later in my life that I ever even heard that word, psychic. Due to circumstances, I returned to New York, my birthplace, after an absence of twenty years. An old friend introduced me to her friend who relayed a very strange story over lunch. " Oh, this psychic gave her all kinds of information." I must admit, I thought this silly and very unbelievable. This gal was Joan Mullen who still remains active in the Center. After much coaxing and teasing we went for a reading. The readings were very informative with many personal matters which left us speechless. She encouraged us to come to her class, explaining, we were gifted. Now, what could be more scary then that. We did, and stayed with this lady Eileen for several years, getting a diploma after we completed her course. This was followed by another teacher, Carmen, who unlike Eileen was more into the spiritual, rather than just psychic, and also channeled, a delight for us all. Between these two ladies, Joan and I were learning a lot. Our friends began to question what we were doing and could we share with them. We, with shaking confidence, began to invite those who we thought might really be interested. That led to many informative nights in our homes. Being housewives with children, it was often difficult to
provide a quiet
atmosphere for meditations. The love we felt and wanted to share was
growing.
It became apparent we needed a haven to gather in. In
those days metaphysics was an unheard thing. Many, I'm sure, thought
we were under a spell or transported ourselves with brooms. It was a
very
difficult chore to try and rent a place, mainly because we weren't an
organization, and could not find the words to tell them what we
were all
about. Secondly, we had no money. Faith and sheer desire made
us pursue our
desired place and we found a Latter Day Saints Church which for some
unknown
reason consented to rent us their tiny church twice
a month. |
