Whispers on
the Wind
Our new classes are coming along
and are being well attended. The Healing Circle is building up
some very powerful, yet comfortable energy in its short existence, a
sign of good things to come. Our "novice" healers are
gaining experience and we hope to be able to start working as a unit
instead of a collection of individuals. Jayne, Chris and Lynn
performed a Medicine Wheel ceremony 2 weeks ago that is still being
talked about. Every comment heard so far has been very positive and
encouraging. A lot of thought and effort goes into these and we'd
like to take this opportunity to thank Jayne and Chris for bringing
us this wonderful native-american tradition and, to Lynn, thank you
for taking the time to be with us and help make this ceremony such a
success. We look forward to the the next wheel coming up in April
(see Schedule on page 1). On March 18th, Gerald Staggs will be
our guest lecturer. Those of us who know Gerald can tell you that
whatever he chooses to do that night will be a powerful experience
that you won't want to miss. Gerald is one of Ellie's
students from Tennessee and will be coming back from performing a 3
day intensive Flower of Life workshop for our very good friends at
the Lifeworks Center in Vermont. Dr. Rick Statler, an old
friend and long-time supporter of the Center, gave a talk on
shaministic healing perspectives on death and dying. "Dr.
Rick" shared his insights with us, including a meditation and,
as usual, we all had a wonderful time. We're issuing a standing
invitation to Dr. Rick: anytime. On Feb. 20th, Vincent De Rosa
and I had the pleasure of being guests of Joyce Keller, the
"angel of the airwaves" and radio station WGBB (1240 AM)
out of Merrick, L.I. We had been talking with Joyce about doing her
live, psychic call-in show, but it all came together so quickly that
we didn't have time to let you know. Thanks, Joyce. It was
fun and we let people know we're here. We're looking
into moving the Center. The church, our home for 10 years now,
has served us well through good times and bad, but our needs have
changed. We won't be going far, maybe just down the road a piece.
The move will allow us the room and flexibility to expand and express
ourselves more fully. We'll keep you posted. For over 15 years
now we have refused to raise our admission and membership fees
because the Love Center has always been about community and spirit,
not money. We have proven this year after year by not following the
trend of charging $12 - $20 nightly as many groups do. But, having
struggled to continue for some time now, we realize that the Center
can no longer exist without an increase. Starting March 4th, the new
admission donation is $8, members and $10, non-members. Annual
membership fees, $25. We'll also have special rates for couples
& families.

Happiness is a how, not a what.
A talent, not an object. Hermann Hesse
To have joy one must share it. Happiness was born a twin.

It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no
man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.

"The ancient Egyptians, for example, constantly refer to
a remote golden age they called Zep Tepi, 'The First Time' of
Osiris, which they believed had long predated the Pyramid Age. Osiris
was Orion, and the Great Pyramid had a shaft directed to Orion (the
constellation. Ed) at the meridian. To me, this 'silent'
astro-architectural language seemed to be spelling out 'here is
Osiris in the sky when these pyramids were built, yet know, too, that
his origins are rooted in the First Time.' But The 'First
Time' of what? How could the stars of Orion have a 'First
Time'? Well they can. And they do." The Age of
the Sphinx by Robert Bauval. AA&ES mag, 8/96. Also posted on our
